Noland MacKenzie (Mac) Canter, III has more than 30 years of experience in providing legal counsel to not-for-profit organizations in the areas of federal tax law, planned giving charitable contributions, trademark and copyright law. Before his retirement in 2018, Mac was a founding partner of Copilevitz & Canter, LLC, representing over 200 tax-exempt organizations, including universities, colleges, health care charities, churches, religious organizations and national CFC federations.
Mac received his undergraduate degree from Randolph-Macon College, graduate degrees from Yale University and George Washington University, and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia. He is a member of the bars of Virginia, Maryland, District of Columbia and Missouri.
