World Food Program USA Awarded “Organization of the Year” by the ANA Nonprofit Federation

WASHINGTON, DC (January 6, 2025) – World Food Program USA has been named “Organization of the Year” by the ANA Nonprofit Federation, the leading nonprofit marketing trade association. This annual award recognizes outstanding accomplishments by a nonprofit organization using data-driven marketing to advance its mission. 

“We thank the ANA Nonprofit Federation for this honor. This award is a wonderful recognition for our best-in-class team,” said Barron Segar, President and CEO of World Food Program USA. “It reflects the team’s excellence in leveraging data and learnings to optimize our collaboration and fundraising to fight global hunger and change as many lives as possible.” 

The award specifically recognizes the growth and success of World Food Program USA’s direct response program and the organization’s significant humanitarian impact on the part of all its teams. Amid record-high hunger rates and unprecedented needs, World Food Program USA has worked to maximize both brand awareness and revenue impact, resulting in remarkable revenue growth in just a few years. The recipient is chosen based on the following criteria: 

  • Sustained achievement in fundraising through data-driven marketing and consistently successful financial performance. 
  • Recognized leadership with a reputation for excellence within the nonprofit and data-driven marketing communities, as well as with the public at large. 
  • High ethical standards and compliance with generally accepted standards for management and public disclosure. 
  • Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging via inclusive staffing and management practices. 

The Federation, established in in 1982, is the leading U.S. trade association focused on all aspects of nonprofit marketing. It is dedicated to supporting 1,600 organizations through professional education, peer networking, and advocacy. Since its inception in 1988, the “Organization of the Year” award has recognized outstanding accomplishments by nonprofits across sectors. Past award recipients have included Save the Children, CARE, Heifer International, World Vision, Doctors Without Borders and St. Jude Children’s Hospital, among many other notable organizations.
