General Mills, is a leading global food company that serves the world by making food people love. As part of the company’s commitment to increasing food and nutrition security around the globe, General Mills supports the United Nations World Food Programme’s School Feeding programs. Their partnership has enabled pilot programs in the Indian state of Odisha, where more than 137,000 schoolchildren received micronutrient-fortified mid-day meals and also in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, where 290,000 children were reached with micronutrient fortified school meals. In 2018, there support extended to school meal pilot-programs for pre-schoolers in rural, impoverished areas of China. Most recently General Mills Inc. extended its support for U.N World Food Programme’s school feeding programs in India and China. In India, they will support new pilot programs to strengthen the nutritional effectiveness of the Mid-Day Meal Program, and in China, will continue to support the Preschool Nutrition Improvement Pilot Project in Hunan and Guangxi.
