In honor of World Food Day, World Food Program USA presents: A Brief History of Food.

From the dawn of agriculture to the creation of electronic food vouchers, explore some of the major milestones and setbacks in our progress toward making hunger history.

Food is the backbone of civilization, enabling us to grow stronger, smarter and healthier. While the journey has not been without hardship—we’ve had some pretty brutal famines—our ability to come together over food has never wavered.
