LILONGWE – The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has begun a new round of life-saving relief operations in Malawi where as many as 6.5 million people – nearly 40 percent of the population – may require emergency assistance in coming months. This is set to become the largest ever emergency food relief operation in the country’s history. 

MUNICH – The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) today stepped up its search for innovative solutions to spur progress towards Zero Hunger by launching an Innovation Accelerator to identify and nurture new, bold responses to humanitarian and development challenges as outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals.  

ROME – In the first papal visit to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), Pope Francis today gave his full support to the goal of eradicating hunger and paid tribute to the organization’s staff, including those who had lost their lives at work.
