thousands of children in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya will go to school hungry today.
Coins 4 Kids™ is a WFP USA initiative that empowers volunteers to end childhood hunger. When you become a Coins 4 Kids™ Champion, WFP USA sends you the tools you need to build awareness and raise funds for school meals in Kenya.
THE RED CUP: SYMBOL OF HOPE
The World Food Program (WFP) uses red cups to distribute school meals. Each cup is filled with nutritious food staples, like soya, cereal and beans. When you fill a Coins 4 Kids™ cup with change, you will feed a child for an entire school year and give them a chance at a brighter future. A full cup represents: health, education and stronger community.
You can make a difference
Since 2004, Coins 4 Kids™ has helped the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) provide more than 26 million school meals to children in nearly 100 schools throughout the slums of Nairobi, Kenya. Coins 4 Kids™ supporters around the country collect bills and change in a red collection cup, modeled after the red cups that WFP fills with nutritious food for these children each day in school. Every 25 cents you collect in your cup will feed one hungry child in school for a day. It’s that simple—one quarter, one cup of nutritious food.
